Daryl Gott/Ryan Fourt Quintet

Guitarist Ryan Fourt and Saxophonist Daryl Gott will be performing back to back weeks in July at Nocturne beginning Thursday July 11th and again on July 18th. Daryl and Ryan first performed together back in 2022 at a routine gig restaurant gig but immediately knew there was something special in the works - even in playing standards the two musicians were creating contrapuntal lines and playing sensitive melodies with one another, something akin to sounds you might hear listening to a Jim Hall and Paul Desmond record. With the two shows in July, Daryl and Ryan this time will be presenting a program of original music written and programed by the two area musicians, with a select few choice standards sprinkled in. They're excited to bring some new and original music to the Denver music scene this July, at Nocturne Jazz and Supper Club. Ryan and Daryl will be joined by Tom Amend (piano), Michael Rinko (bass), and Ed Breazeale (drums).

J.J. Murphy Trio

Originally from Nashville, J.J. Murphy brings a soulful vitality to contemporary American music and jazz. His sound is a contemplative blend of folk, blues, and jazz-often channeling modern luminaries such as Bill Frisell and Ry Cooder while evoking music from the traditional American vernacular. Frequent collaborator Ryan Connors (Dynamo) defines Murphy's style as “the blues-inspired rawness of Eric Clapton with the jazz vocabulary and sensitivity of Bill Frisell.”   For this special show, Mr Murphy will be joined by Braxton Kahn on drums and Kirwan Brown on bass.

In May 2014, Murphy earned an M.M. in performance from Belmont University in Nashville, where he studied with guitarist/composer Mike Valeras. Murphy has traveled the country, playing venues large and small—from NYC’s historic Rockwood Music Hall to Nocturne Jazz and Supper Club, to Nashville’s legendary 3rd & Lindsley—captivating audiences with his versatile style.

Ryan Fourt Trio: Tribute to the Unsung Organ Grinders

The raw soul and sonic power of the traditional organ trio has captivated Ryan since his first encounters with jazz as a young musician in the late 90's. To this day he is still drawn back to that sound and continues to pursue his niche artistically within the rich and historical genre. With this project Ryan will be joined by Tom Amend (Organ), and Ed Breazeale (drums) as they look to uncover music from some of the more unheralded organist in jazz, playing music from the likes of John Patton, Shirley Scott, Melvin Rhyne, Baby Face Willette and more. Join them Wednesdays in July (11th, 18th & 25th) as they explore this rich tradition of jazz.

Ryan Fourt started his career by studying jazz guitar with Professor James Greeson, the great Dale Bruning and New York guitarist Mark Elf.  In 2004, Ryan moved to Northern Colorado and established himself in the scene, sharing the stage with local and national talents such as Brad Goode, Peter Sommer, Dana Landry, Ken Walker, Dave Pope, Gareth Malone, Jeff Jenkins, Devin Hoff, Alvin Lucier, Chris Lee, Ben Markley, Erik Applegate and Paul McKee. Currently Ryan lives in Loveland Colorado and maintains a busy performance schedule with various jazz and pop groups along the front-range and mountain west regions.
