Originally from Denver, Pat Casey arrived in New Orleans in February 2008, and quickly assimilated himself into the local music scene. He has become a respected and prominent bassist in New Orleans and plays regularly with luminaries like Chris Thomas King and Bill Summers (where he currently holds the bass seat in the famed Headhunters).

Pat has also pursued his own progressive project, called Pat Casey and the New Sound. The group hosts an introspective yet energetic Sunday night weekly at the Spotted Cat, which has become something of an institution for lovers of jazz and jazz fusion. He’s traveled the world with various groups and has picked up fresh and worldly influences throughout his career, including funk, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, jazz and gospel. His sound is insightful and captivating, and his creative energy is palpable.

At Nocturne, Pat with fretless bass in hand is honoring the great Jaco Pastorius in a 3 week run.
