“I Remember ‘Trane” - an evening of jazz emphasizing the music of John Coltrane from the 50s and 60s. Joe Lovano said if an alien came to earth and wanted to learn about jazz, he should listen to Coltrane ballads, which the band will include, along with a mix of classics from contemporaries to expand and contrast the music of that era.  Also included are selections from their new CD “After The Rain”. In addition to Harry Drabkin on saxophone, the group encompasses the marvelous talents of Eric Gunnison on piano, Mark Diamond, bass, and Todd Reid, drums.

Saxophonist Harry Drabkin is a Berklee College of Music graduate as well as a faculty alumni where he performed in the Recording Band, Faculty Jazz Ensemble and more. His influences come from Miles, Coltrane, Cannonball and Charlie Mariano. He recently retired as Chief of Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina and returned to Denver where he is active in our local jazz scene.
