Renditions Dinner: Carmen McRae
All day
What happens when an iconic artist or recording inspires a chef and sommelier? RENDITIONS - an interactive five course dinner event where the art of gastronomy and music collide.
A few times per year, the Nocturne team creates an original tasting menu that explores the aesthetics of iconic albums and artists through flavor, texture, and emotion. Renditions Dinners include interactive chats and in depth course explanations by Chef Partner Dustin Beckner, the musicians on stage, and Nocturne co-owners Scott & Nicole Mattson.
Renditions Dinners have been covered by local and national media alike, and gathered a committed following of fans. ( See Linnea Covington's How to Pair Food with Music )
In the weeks leading up to the Renditions Dinner chef Dustin and Scott dive deep into the selected music, using various melodies, themes, lyrics and related stories to inspire five original courses that are paired to a live performance of the works featured.
For our 27th Renditions, we're drawing inspiration from the performances of legendary jazz singer Carmen McRae. On stage for this special night we are honored to host pianist Eric Gunnison who both toured and recorded with Carmen McRae. Eric is joined by Denver singer Louisa Amend who will explore many of Carmen's classics, as well as a few treasures pulled from one of Carmen's last known existing physical books of music that Eric has managed to preserve.
*Guests may pre-purchase the sommelier's wine pairings upon booking or upon arrival
**This experience is offered one night only. We request all dietary restrictions be submitted from your party upon reserving, as we may not be able to accommodate special requests on the day of the event
